In Memoriam: Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr.

1941 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr., a titan of the American Civil Rights Movement and a beacon of hope for the world.

To the Jackson family—we extend our deepest sympathies. While the world mourns a global statesman, we recognize that you mourn a father, a grandfather, and a guiding light. We stand with you in this time of transition, offering our prayers and our unwavering support.

A Legacy of “Keeping Hope Alive”

Reverend Jackson’s life was a masterclass in courage. From the front lines of Selma to the founding of Operation PUSH and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, he transformed the landscape of justice. He didn’t just demand a seat at the table; he built new tables where everyone—regardless of race, creed, or class—was welcome.

  • The Voice of the People: He gave a voice to the “disenfranchised, the discarded, and the disrespected.”
  • The Architect of Change: His historic presidential runs redefined what was possible in American politics, paving the way for generations of leaders to follow.
  • The Heart of Chicago: Though his influence reached every corner of the globe, his heart remained firmly planted in the South Side of Chicago.

“I Am Somebody”

Rev. Jackson taught us that our worth is inherent and our potential is limitless. As we reflect on his transition, we recommit ourselves to the work he began. We honor him not just with words, but by continuing the march toward economic justice, voting rights, and peace.

“Never surrender your hope. Keep hope alive. Keep hope alive!”

Rest in power, Reverend. Your mission continues through all of us.
