President’s Letter

Dear Oklahoma African-American Hall of Fame Honorees and Guests,

Welcome to the Oklahoma African-American Hall of Fame (OAAHOF). This illustrious occasion is rich with the history of phenomenal African-American Oklahomans and their contributions to the great State of Oklahoma and our nation. Each individual inducted tonight has provided our community and state with their stellar-best efforts. As a person, they have given unselfishly to make our community a better place to live and work.

Each contribution has been recognized locally as well as nationally. We should be very proud of the foundation that they have laid for others to build upon. They have touched our lives in various ways, from fighting for equal justice for all through legislative advocacy to being on the ground zero of civil rights and full citizenship participation. These honorees are the stuff from which legends are made. Let us honor each of our inductees by continuing their tradition of community involvement, social justice and advocacy, educational excellence, personal responsibility, artistic expression, economic empowerment, and passion for “doing the right thing.”

As the sponsor of the OAAHOF, NTU Association of Oklahoma, Incorporated, NTU is humbled to continue this celebration of the recognition of excellence. This event is the public recognition of the personal and family sacrifices made for our collective benefit. As NTU celebrates our 30th anniversary, we want to thank you for your support throughout the years and prayers. We could not have made it to this significant milestone without your patronage, prayers, and patience. We hope to continue to provide you with programs and opportunities to explore, expand, and educate everyone about the impact and contributions of African-Americans and Africans on the Oklahoma cultural scene.

Sincerely,

William “Bill” Broiles
President
NTU Art Association of Oklahoma, Inc.
